At makeSEA we're all about innovation. Through the process of change, alteration, transformation and metamorphosis, using new methods and creativity, that new or improved products can evolve from an existing idea.
Stephen Coyle, a makeSEA member, is experimenting with Christoph Laimer’s 3D-printed Halbach Motor design (/makesea/1gt) to see if he can get it to generate more power. Stephen is casting the core of the motor using his 3D printed parts, a propane foundry,
and scrap metal.
You can check out Stephen's progress here: https://imgur.com/a/jhpfE and look at the comments on the Halbach Motor project for more insights. Stephens’s goal is to produce enough power with the motor to use in his water-jet-powered kayak project.
There are many 3D printed projects on makeSEA and many more to come! Become a member and “innovate” your next idea!
